According to company spokesperson Rob Hickman, Advanced Flight Systems plans to spotlight its new AF-5600 and AF-5500 EFIS systems at this year's COPPERSTATE Fly-In & Aviation Expo.
The AF-5600 uses a high-resolution 10.4-inch LCD, and the AF-5500 uses a high-resolution 8.4-inch LCD to display EFIS, Engine and Map data. Both systems are currently shipping with support for Synthetic Vision, XM Weather, ADS-B Weather & Traffic, Geo Referenced approach plates and Vertical Power.
"What makes these systems unique is a simplified user interface that eliminates the complicated user interface that other EFIS systems use, as well as a superior high-resolution screen, internal AHRS and Engine Monitor that makes for a simple installation," Hickman says. "You'll be able to see both systems at our booth, or in the Advanced Flight Systems RV-10 at the Van's Aircraft booth."
Hickman says these systems are ideal for experimental aircraft and LSA.

Trio Avionics will be showcasing its Pro Pilot autopilot and GX Pro autopilot systems this year at COPPERSTATE. "These are two axis autopilots that are extremely capable and loaded with safety features," says spokesperson Jerry Hansen. "Accurate horizontal navigation is achieved using GPS signals, and an internal altimeter allows precise climbs, descents and altitude pre-select."
Pro Pilot can be used with most aviation GPS receivers and selected EFIS systems, Hansen adds, whereas the GX Pro is designed specifically to interface with the Garmin G3X EFIS system. "GPSS and GPSV options allow procedure turns, holding patterns and descents into airports that are approved for LPV approaches," he continues. "And, a fuel-management option is available."
Safety features include:

• "G" Force Limiting
• Airspeed Limiting
• Automatic Servo Disconnect on takeoff
• Emergency Auto 180-degree turn and "Intelligent" servos.
"Trio's Gold Standard Servos have full authority to disconnect themselves if they see a communication error, over-temperature or over-current condition and will automatically disconnect during takeoff and when experiencing excessive 'G' forces," Hansen points out.
These products are intended for use in Experimental, LSA and warbirds.

FAQs -
I only do business for special events in Arizona, am I required to have a license? •
Yes. The Transaction Privilege Tax Application (short form) must be obtained. This short form is specifically for event licensing or transient vendors and is intended for use by vendors at special events such as Fairs, Shows, Swap Meets, etc.
The current license fee specified on the short form is $12. A link is provided to the most recent form (07/11) or go to www.azdor.gov to verify.
How long does it take to obtain a license?
Once you register online at www.AZTaxes.gov and submit the required signature document and applicable fees, your license will be sent by returned mail in approximately 4 weeks.
If you go to one of the DOR offices in person and complete the application, it will take a minimum of 30 minutes to process the application and receive your license.
If you mail in your completed application, please allow 10 to 14 business days to receive the license.
Tax Rates on Retail Sales
State of Arizona and Pinal County - 7.7%
City of Casa Grande - 2.0%
Net tax to be collected on retail sales: 9.7%
The above information should be verified with the Arizona Department of Revenue.
Special Note: A separate city license fee is not required for COPPERSTATE exhibitors, since the COPPERSTATE license with the City of Casa Grande applies to all participants.

The dates for the 2012 COPPERSTATE Fly-In are October 25 through October 27. COPPERSTATE goals are to provide a meeting and market place for sport and general aviation. The vendors who exhibit at COPPERSTATE bring the latest technologies, products, and services to the Southwestern United States. Sport Aviation pilots from Texas to California and from Montana to Arizona look to COPPERSTATE as a meeting place between fellow aviators and a shopping venue. Exhibitors at COPPERSTATE are rewarded with easy access to customers and an ideal environment for demonstrating aircraft and equipment. An extensive forums program allows the exhibitor to present his products to large audiences of potential custormers.
COPPERSTATE Exhibitors are the elite within the general aviation marketplace. As such COPPERSTATE is making every effort to provide an elite environment for these vendors. COPPERSTATE continues to look to new ways to serve this community.
All Exhibitors can expect to have contact information placed on the COPPERSTATE website for access by potential customers both before and after the event. This is, effectively, a free online service supplementing regular marketing efforts. Exhibitor information received by October 1 is assured a listing in the event program.
Food Vendors Note: Due to limitations, spaces in the Food Court are not generally available. Contact the Exhibitor Chairman as below for more information. Approved Food Court vendors should submit a Food Vendor Contract (PDF), and a Pinal County Food Permit Application (PDF) by September 15. Remember to include a $25 check payable to Pinal County for the Food Permit.

General Insurance Definitions andRequirements
Certificate of Liability Insurance
This is a document that insurance companies typically provide upon request at no cost. It is a statement that the insured does have liability insurance for the activity specified—in this case the COPPERSTATE Fly-In. A separate certificate should be issued for each of the following entities: “COPPERSTATE Fly-In, PO Box 9328, Phoenix, AZ 85022” and “City of Casa Grande, 510 E Florence Blvd, Casa Grande, AZ 85122” showing each as an “additional insured.” The complete address as shown above must appear on each certificate.
Liability Waiver
This is a statement from an individual that he is voluntarily participating in an activity and that others involved are not liable for injury or damages resulting from that activity. The most common use at the Fly-In would be for persons involved in aircraft usage—either paid or unpaid.
2012 COPPERSTATE Insurance Requirements
*COPPERSTATE Fly-In expects any exhibitor involved in the activities specified in the signed contract to provide a “Certificate of Liability Insurance.” as above.
*COPPERSTATE Fly-In expects that any exhibitor giving aircraft rides or similar have every participant sign a Liability Waiver. It is assumed that each exhibitor already does this as a normal procedure and, if not, should prepare such a document.
Notice to Outdoor/Aircraft Exhibitors
The basic policy of COPPERSTATE management is that no tents or shades other than those provided by COPPERSTATE are allowed in aircraft exhibit areas. This policy is a result of consultations with insurance carriers and COPPERSTATE lawyers. Other outdoor exhibitors should consult the Exhibitor Chairman to determine the acceptability of individual tents or displays.
